The lot for this 4,500-square-foot home presented a design challenge: It was located on the edge of a high embankment overlooking a lake and was buildable to just 50 feet wide. By stacking and layering rooms, lake views were created from every space. A large radius deck that cantilevers out over the bluff offers a panoramic view of the lake.
Upon entering the home, one is exposed to a sunken great room with a massive stone fireplace and a wall of windows that look out onto the lake. A master suite is off to the left; to the right is an open hall and stairway connecting the formal dining room, family room and gourmet kitchen to two other levels in the house. Studio Hittle also created the home’s landscape plan.
