DWELLING
New Construction
Rustic Lake Home
Watertown, Minnesota
The homeowners’ extensive collection of black-on-black Southwest Native American pottery and kachina dolls, along with their love of the rugged Southwest, influenced this dwelling’s design. The 3,000-square-foot home has a soaring three-story log-columned great room that’s in startling contrast to its modest single-story entry façade. The grand interior also includes a massive stone walk-in fireplace, a boat-shaped dining area and an intimate gourmet kitchen. A large screened porch, which wraps around the great room and dining area, provides a beautiful view high above a small rural lake and the surrounding rolling farmland. Studio Hittle also created the landscape plan.
