The homeowners’ objective with this new house: “Less is more.” With floor to ceiling walls of windows, the exterior views become the interior’s art. White walls with trimless openings, white doors, white-washed oak floors and fine white cabinetry all become an unobtrusive backdrop for the colors of the season outside and an eclectic art collection inside.
Another minimalist element: The warm grey color of polished raw concrete throughout the lower level walkout. Outside, white-washed cedar shingles, narrow white wood lap siding and minimal overhangs with no fascia create a clean exterior façade. Studio Hittle also designed the landscaping.
