Whimsical English Tudor

The master plan for this 1.5-acre site, developed to accompany the renovation of the home, reflects the owners’ artistic and musical talents. The site is one big canvas covered with whimsical art and gardens, creating a spirited frame for the otherwise proper English Tudor-style house.
The front yard became a sculpture garden of musical notes and symbols intertwined with stone walls, gardens, sculpture, water elements and a walkway through it all to the front door. In the back, a gentle south-facing slope covered with mature maples extends out on a point into Mitchell Lake. The pièce de résistance is a stone sculptural dock by local artist Zoran Mojsilov. The dock is in bold contrast to the European-influenced grounds.
