Heirloom Morningside Bungalow
Edina, Minnesota
Built in 1923 by the owner’s great-grandfather, this bungalow has remained in the family ever since. The all-original home went through a drastic renovation that maintained the heirloom quality, character and charm of its beginnings.
The greatest alteration involved lifting the home and moving it into the front yard, rotating it 90 degrees, constructing a new basement and foundation, moving the home back onto the new basement, and constructing a new attached two-car tandem garage with a design studio over. Interior spaces were rearranged with a new kitchen and enlarged sunroom. The home was gutted and completely updated. All the original hardwood floors were refinished along with reuse and refinishing of the original trim work, interior doors and hardware.
